Agastya's POV :
It's been a few weeks since Ekantika is living with me. She has started bonding with everyone.
It's great to see her smiling and laughing but she still hasn't moved on from what happened.
She is having therapy sessions with Vaishali but she is still not fully comfortable to open up everything.
It's a cozy afternoon and I am in my cabin going through the details of a new case.
"May I come in sir?" One of the officers was standing outside my cabin.
"Come in come in." I replied.
"Sir ye jo case hai isme 3 suspects mile hain....." He started explaining me.
"Chalo phir! Inki khatirdari krte hain. They will surely give us a lead to the case." I said as we moved towards our car.
~~~In the evening~~~
"Case is almost solved! You all can go home. I am leaving as well!" I said and dismissed the officers.
I drove my car and reached my home.
I knocked the door twice but still Ekantika didn't open it.
I called on her number but she didn't pick it as well.
Something is wrong. I entered the house from backdoor whose keys I always keep with me for any emergency situation.
As I moved to the living room I saw it was just the same as it was in morning.
No robbery but wait where is she?
I ran upstairs to her room and saw it was open.
I entered and saw her lying unconscious on the floor.
Wtf!! I ran to her and tried waking her up.
I picked her up and placed her on the bed.
I sprinkled some water on her face. Demn it wake up Ekantika!
I called the doctor immediately.
She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me.
"Bachaa are u fine?" I asked.
"Huh.. han b-bhaiya I am f-fine." She said but she was literally shaking with fear.
"No you are not! Just let the doctor come. You rest here and drink some water first." I gave her a glass of water.
The door bell rang! I went and opened it. The doctor was there. I took him to her room.
The doctor checked her and talked to her personally.
"What happened doctor? Is she fine?" I asked him after the checkup.
"See Mr. Agastya! She is a bit weak. It's not much physical but the concern is her mental health. She seems strong from outside but the marks the past made, she is not able to completely heal from those things. Talk to her, make her feel at home. Try not to bring her past memories back." He explained.
"Sure Dr. I will keep in mind." I said and paid his fees.
After the doctor left, I went to her room. She was engrossed in her thoughts.
"Kya soch rhi ho? Itna kyun sochti ho past ka?" I asked while sitting next to him.
"Bas phone par kuch dekhliya tha jisse past ki cheezein yaad aagyi. I am fine now. Main to ye soch rhi thi agar aapne bachaya nhi hota to the assault would have been continued." She said leaning against my shoulder.
"It's all God's grace. Ab main hun na meri bachi ko koi hath bhi nhi lagayega." I said caressing her hair.
She just hummed.
"Acha chalo main dinner bana raha hun khane aajao." I said.
"Aap jayiye mujhe mann nhi khane ka." She replied.
I huffed and went to make dinner. She needs some time for herself.
I remembered her saying she loves dal makhani and naan.
I started to prepare the dish.
After I was done, I served for both of us and took the plates to her room.
I set a small portable table on the bed and kept the plates.
I sat beside her, took one morsal of food and tried feeding her.
"Aa kro bachaa! Main khila Raha hun tab bhi nhi khaogi??" I made a pout.
She was controlling her laugh but couldn't control it and started laughing.
"You look funny bhaiya haha 😂" she said laughing.
"See I made you laugh. Ab aaa krooooo" I fed her the morsal.
I ate mine too and made her eat as well.
After we finished our dinner, I washed the dishes and meanwhile she called Vaishali.
Her future bhabhi is her favourite now.
They were on video call and I joined in too.
"Bhabhi aap kab aa rhi ho yahan? Mujhe milna hai aapse." Eki said whining like a child.
Well you call her your child only said my mind.
Yeah ik now shut up!
"Beta aapki bhabhi tabbhi aayengi agar aap promise kroge ki you won't think so much about your past and stop giving me a heart attack like today." I said.
"Kyun aaj kya huya my Mr. ACP??" Vaishali asked unaware of the whole drama.
I explained her while Ekantika bit her lips because she knew Vaishali would be tensed and angry.
"Ekiiiiiii ye kya sun rhi hun main??" She gave her a fake death glare.
"Bhabhi kya krun main? The marks of my past are very deep. Any small thing related to it makes me anxious leading to panic attack." She said in a low voice.
"Beta I understand but aise past ko leke bethna bhi acha nhi. Try to move on and focus on your present. Me and Agastya will give our best to make u feel better." Vaishali explained to which I agreed.
We talked for some more time and then cut the call since Vaishali wanted to sleep and even Ekantika needed rest.
I checked upon Eki and then went to sleep as well after giving her a forehead kiss.
It has become a ritual of us from the day she asked me to give a forehead kiss just the way elder brothers and fathers give to their sisters and daughters.
She misses that bond and I will do anything to make her feel that bond. I will be her dad and brother both.
(A/N : guyss yk what I saw a reel where a brother gave a forehead kiss to his little sister but the generation is so fvked up that some L people were sexualizing it. Fcking p*rn addicts!!! I wanted to show the purity of this bond in book and so I wrote this scene.)
